Favourite Summer Snacks

 

It’s the beginning of June which means it’s basically summer and I am already planning every picnic, beach date and mini vacation I can.

I don’t know what it is about the warmer weather but I tend to crave less dense meals and rely more on smaller, lighter meals throughout the day.

You’ve probably heard me say it a million times but snacks are not meal replacements. If anything they should be seen as a filler between all those protein packed breakfast and lunches you’re having ;).

Here’s a current list of what I always have on hand!

 

  1. Fresh Fruit

    What better season then to head to your favourite farmers market and stalk up on your favourite fruits. Think blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, cherries and watermelon

  2. Icy Pops

    I’m always on the hunt for low sugar options and so far these two brands are my absolute favourite

    - Superfruit Freezies (you can find these at your local grocery store)

    - Happy Pops ( so far have only found these at Whole Foods)

  3. Chips & Popcorn

    Seems weird that i’m even suggesting this but with the right portion and perfect ingredients this can be a great beach option. Favourites include Siete & Lesser Evil. Both these brands have amazing, clean healthy ingredients that I wholeheartedly trust. Both these can be found at WholeFoods or Fresh Street Market

  4. Bars

    I’m not the biiiiiigest fan of buying bars (think high sugar, too much oil and other processed nonsense) but I will admit to having a few on hand for emergencies.
