Everyday Kitchen Essentials

EVERYDAY KITCHEN ESSENTIALS

It should come to no surprise that a large portion of my time is spent in the kitchen. Whether I’m cooking up recipes for our Collective Performance clients, you guys or my family, my time in there is well spent. That’s why I wanted to round up some of my favourite everyday essentials that are (mostly) cost effective.

In all seriousness, it was really hard to narrow down the list (because I use so many things) but what you see below are things I use multiple times a day and in multiple ways. You’d be surprised by what you can use a pyrex dish for.

Quick thing to note - Nothing you see below is sponsored or gifted. I genuinely just believe these are great tools to have on hand (even if you’re a beginner in the kitchen!). Just click on the italic bolded word and it will take you directly to it’s link!

Pots & Pans - I wish I had a less expensive option for you but I use these All Clad Pots & Pans. I used to buy kitchen-aid or whatever was on sale at Home Sense or Winners, but honestly, half the time I ended up throwing them out 6-12 months later because of the quality. However these pots and pans have lasted a while and have made such a difference in how food cooks and tastes (and even cleans).

Air Fryer - Never would I have EVER thought I would buy one, in fact I have been against them for a very long time. I thought they were useless (hello, we have ovens) and took up too much counter space but it was'n’t until I spent 2 months with one in Palm Springs that I was converted. You guys, I’m hooked. These things are GENIUS. I have made the best fries, roasted potatoes, cabbage, tofu and chicken in this one.

Reusable Bags- I’m always trying to find ways to do better by the environment which is why I switched to these reusable bags. I use them for dry goods, refrigerator goods, frozen foods and even for things like monty’s pencils!

Cooking Utensils - I don’t even know where to start but here are my essentials:

(1) Strainer

2) Good set of knives

(3) Cheese Grater

(4) Wooden Spatula

(5) Garlic Press

(6) Mason Jar

(7) Storage Containers

(8) Glass Measuring Cup - you’d be surprised how often you would use these even just to scramble eggs

(9) Silver Bowls

(10) Salt & Pepper Holders - similar to the ones I have

Espresso Machine - This was a bigger investment, but one that was worth it. We bought Saeco Machine over 5 year ago and it still works like a charm. Easy to clean and easier to use. At the end of the day, it has saved both Ed and I a lot of money on coffee. If on average you buy a latte a day you’re spending $39.00 a week (or roughly $2000.00 a year). The cost of this machine was less than what you would pay in a year. Safe to say this was paid off in less than a year with the amount of coffee we drink. No need to grind your bean, buy them whole and toss them in!

Water Bottle -You’re going to think I’m a little nutty, but i’m extremely picky when it comes what my beverages are poured in. So when I found this HydraPeak water bottle I was thrilled. Keeps everything cold, good suction (tres important) and comes in a plethora of colours. A little heavy but nothing to complain about.

Blender - I used to have the Nutribullet but I don’t know if it was me or the products but 2 of them broke so I caved and bought one of the “cheaper” Vitamix and am super happy with the investment. I use it almost everyday for pretty much anything and everything. It has been a game changer for my smoothies.

Dinnerware - I bought these plates and bowls from target and I love, love, love, how affordable they are. They are my “everyday” use but when I have company over, or I want to juj-up our dinners I rely on these from Anthropologie. Tons of colours to choose from! I will however caution, they do chip easily so easy does it.
